Motorised punts service scrapped - Plans to run motorised punts on the River Cam in Cambridge have been scrapped due to concerns over wildlife.

As one of the "wildlife" there on Saturday afternoons during term time (swog swog), I approve of this. Some of us signed the petition on our way to a linear last term as well - the man who was getting signatures made the very good point that motorised punts would have been quite noisy and possibly somewhat intrusive to the meadows (with additions of landing stages and so on).

That said, I'd now quite like to go punting up to Grantchester anyway. The old-fashioned way.

LARP again, sorry. There's a race of monsters called "swog", after the call they make. Much like pokemon. (Their actual name is "sahaguinn" or something, taken from DnD.)
