Ten things I've done...
Mar. 14th, 2005 02:52 amAn attempt at the "ten things I've done that other people haven't" list:
1) Been the first girl on the British team for the International Physics Olympiad in over ten years. [1]
2) Captained our school synchronised swimming team at the National Schools Championships, and won one year and come second the next. [2]
3) Injured myself on holiday by jumping onto a bed and having the mattress collapse under me.
4) Entered a tripos-based college bar quiz in a team of five - who were the only five doing the subject in the college. [3]
5) Completed six of the Tokimeki Memorial 3 scenarios.
6) Watched all bar one of the Sailor Moon musicals. In Japanese. (How much I understood is another matter.)
7) Got through most of my Linguistics Part II without ever citing Chomsky anywhere.
8) Played Shadow of Memories, a rather underrated adventure/RPG on the Playstation 2.
9) Worn black tie - i.e. dinner jacket, trousers and so on - to a formal dinner. (The suit belonged to a male friend.)
10) Made more LJ icons than I've written essays this year.
(And yes, there are footnotes. :)
1. I think. Nobody was ever quite clear on this. My headteacher thought it was "first girl ever", our observers at the Olympiad told me it had been about twelve years or so.
2. "Captain" meaning "oldest girl in squad". And we came first out of four and second out of nine, I think. :)
3. And we won. Bwa ha ha. (The others got bottles of Tia Maria, and I took the teddy bear that was on offer.)
